There has long been a struggle between mental health and addiction treatment providers and insurance companies. Both sides have some valid points, and both sides have also gone too far over the line. In the middle, the patients suffer - those who are supposed to be receiving help. Let's take a look at a few aspects of the system that need to be cleaned up.

Roughly 59 million people in the Unites States aged 18 and over meet the criteria of having any mental illness (AMI) at some point during the year. The system has been created to point them to less effective and even harmful treatments. What can we do to help?
